S vymýšlením Nokie 5230 si výrobce mnoho práce nedal. Jednoduše okopíroval vzhled staršího modelu 5800 XpressMusic (Tube), který byl vůbec prvním dotykovým mobilem od Nokie se Symbianem. Tento mobil najdete stále v prodeji, ale stále stojí podstatně více než novinka.
Tube podruhé
Vzhledově dokáže telefony odlišit jen málokdo. Na novějším telefonu chybí nápis XpressMusic, nenajdete tu žádnou kameru pro videohovory a 5230 má barevný kryt. Variant je k dispozici hned několik, v balení ale najdete pouze jeden jediný. Nokia Tube nabízela také stylus, 5230 už se bez něj obejde, v balení však najdete „kytarové trsátko“, kterým můžete do displeje ťukat. Z toho vyplývá, že dotykový displej je vyroben rezistivní technologií.
Shodně s 5800 zůstalo zachováno umístění paměťové a SIM karty, které se vkládají do boku telefonu. Vkládání SIMky je pohodlné, její vyjímání už poněkud krokolomnější, je potřeba vyjmout baterii. Ta má kapacitu 1 320 mAh. I když má telefon microUSB konektor, dobíjení přes něj nefunguje. Nokia 5230 ještě používá starší typ nabíječek s úzkým 2mm konektorem. Na horní straně, kde najdete otvor pro nabíječku se nachází i 3,5mm jack na sluchátka.
Telefon se ovládá hlavně přes displej, který kupodivu dosahuje stejných parametrů jako předchůdce. Tedy velikost úhlopříčky 3,2" a rozlišení 360 × 640 bodů. Nokia se rozhodla pro odporovou technologii, na ovládání se dá poznat, že od doby Tube urazila kus cesty, 5230 se mi ovládala podstatně lépe. Dotykový displej doplňuje trojice tlačítek pod displejem. Slouží klasicky pro přístup do hlavní nabídky a k příjmu či ukončení hovoru. Tuto trojici ještě doplňuje posuvné tlačítko na pravém boku, které slouží jako zámek. Hlavní klávesa dokáže svým blikáním upozorňovat na zmeškané události a hovory. Telefonu dokonce nastavíte, jak dlouho toto upozorňování má fungovat.
Dotykový Symbian s mouchami
U Nokie zatím stále zůstává zachováno pravidlo, že každý mobil s dotykovým displejem má automaticky operační systém Symbian. Jedná se o verzi Symbian 9.4 S60 5th Edition. Celý systém pohání procesor ARM s taktem 434 MHz. Nokia 5230 nabízí uživatelský prostor pro soubory pouhých 70 MB, investice do paměťové karty microSDHC tedy bude nejspíše nezbytností.
Pohotovostní displej telefonu dokáže zobrazovat údaje z kalendáře, aktuálně přehrávanou hudbu a rádio. Pokud tyto údaje nepotřebujete, můžete si zapnout panel s oblíbenými kontakty. V žádném případě nechybí klávesové zkratky, ty se ale na displej vejdou pouze čtyři a není možné přidat si další jako například na N97 Mini.
Na pohyb v nabídkách telefonů se Symbianem si musíte chvíli zvykat. Platí pravidlo, že na položky hlavní nabídky stačí ťuknout pouze jednou, v podnabídkách musíte na řádek (s výjimkou toho úplně horního) klepat vždy dvakrát. Tato nesourodost v ovládání byla dotekovému Symbianu už nesčetněkrát vyčítána, do příchodu verze Symbian^3 ale změnu očekávat nemůžeme.
Základní nabídka funkcí je podobná jako na jiných Symbianech. Každý kontakt může mít 34 základních položek, popisky se přitom dají dále upravovat. Celkové množství kontaktů není nijak omezené. Po uložení kontaktu k němu jde přiřadit speciální vyzvánění. Veškerá nastavení zvuků se jinak provádí přes profily, kterých je v telefonu celkově šest.
K vytočení kontaktů se kromě adresáře dostanete také z hlavní obrazovky. Tam buď máte nastavené zkratky, nebo se rychle dostanete k číselníku. Při hovoru se nad displejem skrytý senzor přiblížení stará o to, abyste snad tváří omylem nezmáčkli některé ze softwarových tlačítek. Informace o všech hovorech najdete v Protokolu, který kromě klasické dělení (přijaté, volané, zmeškané) nabízí i informace o délce všech typů hovorů.
Kalendář už bych vzhledem k dotykovému ovládání uvítal větší. Do jednotlivých kolonek se při měsíčním náhledu trefuje trochu obtížněji. Zůstává ale zase dost místa, aby se ve spodní části displeje události vypisovali. K událostem můžete přidávat také popisky z poznámek. K buzení se nejsnadněji dostanete přes pohotovostní displej a ťuknutí na hodiny. Budíků se dá nastavit spousta a všechny umí opakování i buzení při vypnutém telefonu. Mnoho dalších organizačních funkcí telefon kupodivu nemá. Kalkulačka a převodník jsou obvyklou výbavou, poznámky už jsem zmiňoval.
U zpráv vás asi nejvíce bude zajímat samotný způsob psaní. Nečekejte ale nic neobvyklého, na displeji se objeví obdoba klasické mobilní klávesnice a ťukáte do softwarových tlačítek. Při psaní pomáhá slovník T9, pokud k textu připojíte nějakou přílohu, změní se zpráva na multimediální. Kromě obvyklých příloh umí Nokia přidávat ke zprávě i šablonu, vizitku či soubor.
Telefon si pochopitelně poradí i s e-mailovou komunikací. Dnes už stačí pouze zadat e-mailový účet a heslo, o zbytek se telefon postará sám. Na vás pak zbývá nastavit, jak velké e-maily se mohou načítat a na pohotovostním displeji se dá zapnout kontrola došlých zpráv.
Nejlevnější navigace
Nokia 5230 je nejlevnějším dotykovým telefonem tohoto výrobce, dá se tedy čekat, že se na některých funkcích šetřilo. Při používání jsem asi nejvíce postrádal Wi-Fi, rychlá data ale jinak telefon umí. Pod položkou internet se v nabídce skrývá nejen prohlížeč, ale také rychlejší přístup na sítě YouTube, Facebook či MySpace.
Telefon nepostrádá GPS a díky nedávnému kroku výrobce, který uvolnil zdarma používání hlasové navigace Ovi Maps, se Nokia 5230 stala nejlevnějším mobilem s plnohodnotnou navigací a jedním z nejlevnějších navigačních přístrojů na trhu vůbec. V telefonu najdeme opět klasický hudební přehrávač s knihovnou a FM rádio. Pro přehrávání videa slouží nativní Real Player, na podporu formátů DivX a Xvid byste čekali marně.
Hodně se bohužel šetřilo u fotoaparátu. Zatímco ani fotografie z třímegapixelu Nokie 5800 nebyly žádný zázrak, rozlišení 2 Mpx bez autofocusu je na dnešní dobu hodně špatné. Kvalitní fotky opravdu neočekávejte, i když máte k dispozici spoustu dalších nastavení.
Z funkcí, kterou jsou sice v Symbianu 5th obvyklé, ale možná vás překvapí u levného telefonu, se určitě hodí zmínit kontrolu aktuálního firmwaru a ani tentokrát se nezapomnělo na přístup do Ovi Store, kde si pod svým účtem můžete pořizovat do mobilu nové aplikace.
Hlavní výhodou telefonu je rozhodně relativně nízká cena a otevřený operační systém, na který už dnes seženete spoustu aplikací. O necelých tisíc korun dražší Nokia 5530 XpressMusic nabízí Wi-Fi a lepší fotoaparát. Konkurenční Samsung Star se zase lépe ovládá a je levnější, nenabídne ale tak dobré funkce a hlavně navigaci v ceně.
